Generate markers at specific tones
I am looking to generate markers in a file in which the segments I want to save when splitting are marked by a discrete "beeps" Each beep is made up of two dominant frequencies, primarily 950 Hz with a 1180 Hz component. The rest of the content is almost all tones at 700 Hz, with occasiona...

Blackhole installation
Good morning, I downloaded and attempted to install Blackhole on Mac OS 10.15.3. It fails with dialog: "Blackhole.driver" can't be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software. This software need to be updated. Contact the developer for more information. Is it just me? Thank...

.m4b format
Good afternoon, I use AP to break .amad files into several files, splitting according to markers that I assign. These go to iTunes as .m4a files. Once there I convert them to type Audiobooks for use in iBooks on my iPhone. I can save some steps if the file type is .m4b instead of .m4a. Apparently th...

Answering my own question, I believe the problem was that Amadeus Pro was pausing during recording when communications with the external drive used for Temp Files were bogged down. Perhaps slow transfer rates, or full buffers. In any event I changed the disk to be used for Temp files to a different ...

Recordings have gaps not present on original
Hi, I'm an inveterate listener of Audible.com audio books. I download my purchases to my computer, and then record and reformat them to short chunks of .m4a for use on an iPod Shuffle. Playing the Audible .aa file on the Shuffle is a problem, since inadvertently hitting the 'Back' button takes me ba...

Feature request
I often record audio files and break them up into several .m4a files for my iPod. The way I do this is to add markers at appropriate points, and rename the markers (Modify Markers) according to a scheme 'fn 001'. AP will then name the markers 'fn 001', 'fn 002', and so to the end. The problem is if ...

Congratulations to Martin!
A winner of the 2014 Fields Medal for outstanding discoveries in mathematics. Very impressive! Wayne Durham Blacksburg, Virginia P.S. That's like a Nobel prize, but Alfred didn't set up a category for mathematics. Citation via http://www.mathunion.org/general/prizes/2014 ____________________________...

Lost Recording when using timer
After playing around a bit I think I see the problem. When you make a new recording using menu Sound > Record to New File ... and then record using the Start/Stop button, each time you Start it appends to the file. That is, record a minute, stop, start again, record a minute, yields two minutes of r...

Lost recordings
Here's the sequence: I recorded five + hours of audio using "Sound: Record to New File …". I set the Timer (sometimes to stop after a period of silence, sometimes after an elapsed time). The recording terminated according to my setting in the Recording dialog "Timer". I wasn't wa...

Forum list digest spam
Good afternoon, Lately my digests have had an increasing amount of spam included. I just received a lengthy one that was, I believe, 100% spam. I say "I believe" because if there was any content, I couldn't find it. Is there any way to stifle these people? Doesn't one have to be a register...

Re: Removing tape hiss
My problem appears to have been caused by the short duration (1 s) of noise in my file. [I meant to say "the one second of noise that preceded the 400 Hz signal been that had merged with noise." Subsequent references to "the noise" are to that one second piece I put there for sam...
