Re: Blank spectrum window

Thanks! I had fooled around with the gear-wheel settings but it hadn't occurred to me that the color could be set to "make the spectrum invisible" ;-) .

Re: Speed issues with audio cassette tapes

The color of the spectrum had for some reason defaulted to white, and the background was white also. Seems like an odd default, but changing the color made the spectrum visible.

Re: Speed issues with audio cassette tapes

I posted an earlier question about the Spectrum window being empty (blank). How does one start the Spectrum function (OS X 10.13.6).

Blank spectrum window

I don't usually use the Spectrum tool so maybe this is user error. I open a .mp3 file (Amadeus Pro 2.8.8, Os X 10.13.6), select a region, pull down Spectrum from the Analyze window, and I get a blank spectrum. User error or bug? I was also getting the MTLCompiler crash and did the Terminal command &...

Re: Waveform display evanescent zoom-dependent glitch

Well, this is a bit embarrassing; the phenomenon presented in a robust manner but now I can't reproduce it. I'll be working on the same file for a while and I'll try to capture a good example if it reappears.

Re: Waveform display evanescent zoom-dependent glitch

I would be happy to upload the file (wav format). It's currently about 600 MB, but I can see whether a shortened version still exhibits the problem. Should I use DropBox again?

Waveform display evanescent zoom-dependent glitch

I am editing a vinyl recording with way too many tiny clicks to use the Repair Center, so I just scroll through with about ten seconds of the sound displayed and look for obvious glitches. Sometimes an obvious glitch is in fact not really there, as shown by zooming in a bit more. Is this (an aliasin...

Re: MTLComiler error again

Thanks! I am slowly slipping towards the edge of the cliff of upgrading my OS, and here's another little patch of ball-bearings underfoot ;-) .

MTLComiler error again

I get a similar "MTLCompiler Service quit unexpectedly" message as reported earlier (https://www.hairersoft.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=12756#p12756). The crash dump starts as follows: =================== Process: MTLCompilerService [72961] Path: /System/Library/Frameworks/Metal.framework/Ve...

Thanks, Martin. That fixed the problem with shift-r and with n. It would be nice to have another one (maybe alt-shift-r) that means "repeat until end of selection", but I think that suggestion has already been made and rejected.

Repair center keyboard shortcuts mostly don't work

I am trying to quickly go through a vinyl record viewing and then repairing pops. The Repair Center "find" and "repair" buttons work fine, but the n and shift-r shortcuts don't work. r does the repair, but shift-r and n do nothing. So it's hard to rapidly skip through the recordi...

The Audio Devices window of Audio Midi Setup showed the iMic with 2 output channels and only 1 input channel. Aha! I changed it to 2-ch 16-bit integer. Amadeus now shows two channels. Thank you! The two VU meters now are independent. (Still only a single gain control, i.e., if I unlock them and make...

The old iMic is indeed stereo; I used it years ago a lot for stereo recordings on a G4 tower Mac. I think the problem is that somehow the system (iMic plus Macbook plus Amadeus) doesn't recognize that there are two channels coming in over the USB. For example, if I unlock the two recording-gain slid...

Old iMic shows only one channel

I am using an early iMic (the round one, no flat on the front) with a MacBook Pro (retina) in 10.9.5. The Sound selector, Advanced, only shows one channel, and no matter what I do the sound in the left and right stereo channels in Amadeus is identical. Did I break the iMic while poking around with a...
