Why can\'t I convert base 16-bit 16 Khz file and twin MP3 fi

Post by Martin Hairer »

OK, so this not actually a valid Wave file: for example you can see that QuickTime player refuses to play it. Either the recording device is horribly buggy or the recording was interrupted prematurely without the device having the opportunity to fix the file's headers.

Fortunately, the way in which the file is broken is easy to fix "on the fly" and the version of Amadeus available at http://www.hairersoft.com/Downloads/AmadeusPro.zip now does this and should work for you.

On a side note, that recording has a huge DC offset and is completely oversaturated. You'll probably want to record at significantly lower volume and remove the DC offset with Effects -> Denoising -> Suppress DC Offset before doing anything with that file.
Regards,

Martin
