panning increments

Post by philxm »

Hi Martin,

I have a feature request for the management of panning envelopes. If I understand correctly how they presently function, they are measured in increments from 0.0, indicating center, to 1.0, indicating extremes of left and right.

But within those tenths building up to 1.0 -- in other words, 0.2 or 0.7, etc. -- are additional increments, which exist (and are determined by screen pixels) yet are given no corresponding additional metrical information. As such, these "sub-increments" are difficult to position with much precision.

My request, therefore, is that those sub-increments be given metrics of their own. For instance, rather than have 10 (if that's the correct amount) sub-increments which all display as 0.2, show 0.20, 0.21, 0.22, etc. I'm guessing that that's not a difficult change to program for, yet it could provide significantly greater control over precision panning.

Thanks for your attention,

--Phil M.
